The driving centre may also disqualify or suspend you at its own discretion, if for example, you have obtained 12 or more demerit points within 24 months after your enrolment.
If you have not already taken a digital photograph of yourself prior to booking the PDT as mentioned above , you must do so before applying for a QDL. Upon which, your photograph will be submitted to the Traffic Police within 4 hours, and printed on your QDL. You will be put on a 1-year probation period following the grant of your driving licence. You may be required by a police officer to produce your driving licence for examination when you are driving on a road. If you fail to do so you shall be guilty of an offence unless you produce your licence in person at a police office or police station, as specified by the police officer, within 24 hours of being required to produce your driving licence.
If you have not been suspended before, your licence may be suspended if you accumulate 24 or more demerit points within 24 consecutive months. The first suspension will be for 12 weeks. You may do so with the approval from your gynaecologist who has to certify that you are fit for practical lessons as well as the Practical Driving Test. Please bring along the letter of certification from your gynaecologist for every practical lesson and the Traffic Police Practical Driving Test.
You will also have to submit the most recent letter that states the date of your Practical Driving Test to the Traffic Police Department on the day of your Practical Driving Test. You are encouraged to continue with your current training lessons.
However, you can check with your instructor if it is appropriate for you to switch as the change will disrupt your learning progress. If you have completed your current class simulator training, you will be required to complete the simulator modules under the new licence class.
Practical lessons must be cancelled at least 48 working hours or two working days in advance, excluding Public Holidays, through our booking portal. Every learner is entitled to 18 cancellation counts. Once you have exceeded your cancellation counts, a fee will be levied on every subsequent cancellation.
This applies to both theory and practical lessons. The fees paid will be forfeited and no refund will be granted.
